Hornet & Gremlin

The 1970 Hornet became the very model that substituted rather outmoded Rambler American. At first sight it seemed to be quite unremarkable, but later this car appeared to be one of the most popular in the history of AMC. Due to its up-to-date and good styling which remained modern for many years, this car became a kind of basis (here we mean its sheet metal and chassis) for a great number of AMC cars during the next 18 years: the Concord, Eagle and Spirit, Gremlin and also 4WD autos. The Hornet was named after an outstanding Hudson car of the 50s and was produced firstly in 2- and 4-door sedan models. One of the best versions for collections is the 1971 SC/360 Hornet, which was generally released in 784 copies.
